Piqué ha llegado al Zaragoza tras formarse en el Manchester de Alex Ferguson. La experiencia es dura, pero le ha servido para llegar hasta Primera.
Qué tal su aclimatación a Zaragoza?
Bien, de maravilla. Me han recibido con los brazos abiertos y desde el primer día me sentí como en casa.
Me alegro. Fue muy diferente a cuando llegó a Manchester?
Sin duda, hay muchas diferencias. Allí aparecí con 17 años y apenas sabía de qué iba la historia. El idioma parecía una barrera imposible. Además, echaba de menos a la familia y a los amigos.
Lógico. Pese a todo, lo importante era que demostrara pronto a lo que fue.
El fútbol es algo mágico y cubre todas las otras carencias que tienes cuando estás lejos de casa.
Hablando de estar fuera de casa, cómo llevaba lo de la comida?
Fatal.
Por? Si vivía en una buena casa.
Eso es cierto. La familia que me acogió estuvo todo el tiempo pendiente de mí. Pero a la hora de cocinar pensaba mucho en los míos.
Ay la cocina de la mamá!
Cómo lo sabe! Ellos cocinaban de manera muy diferente. Por ejemplo, al arroz le ponían especies raras y su sabor no era el que más me gustaba.
Y qué hacía?
Llamaba a mi madre para que me explicara cómo tenía que hacer el arroz y cómo cocinar. Era un cachondeo.
Qué piensa que quieren los técnicos de los clubes británicos de los jóvenes futbolistas españoles que están fichando?
Encontrar algo más de técnica y de clase de lo que puedan tener allí.
La Premier es todo músculo?
Más o menos. Pienso que siempre se busca lo que no tienes.
Qué tal su relación con los cracks del United?
Muy buena. Como la familia que me acogió en su casa. La verdad es que Sir Alex Ferguson siempre estaba pendiente de cómo me estaban yendo las cosas.
Y eso se agradece...
Eso no tiene precio. Te anima mucho, ya que cuando el día salía tapado y con lluvia podías venirte un poco abajo, pero afortunadamente una buena palabra del entrenador del equipo profesional te hacía de paraguas, de chubasquero y te hacía que casi vieras el sol.

Tengo muchas cosas que agradecer al Manchester y a toda mi gente. Estoy viviendo un sueño y eso, la verdad, no tiene precio.
